Watching the Leaves Turn

Through the wavy old glass in my windows, I've been watching the leaves turn ...

... but I can't look out the window all day, so I decided to bring some in and share them with you.

Today's tablescape began with the leaves -- and this old wool runner I found recently in an auction box. I love it!  There are patches all over, but it seems someone treasured it enough to want to keep it around. Seriously ... it appears to have been around a long time.

Wood is one of my favorite decorating elements for Autumn tablescapes, so I started with my bamboo placemats then added these wood-look leaf chargers recently purchased at Wal-Mart.

Next I added Mikasa "Italian Countryside" dinner plates ...

... and pale butter-yellow leaf-design damask napkins.  (A set of 8 of these napkins are for sale here -- or in sage green here.)

Better Homes & Gardens salad plates recently purchased at Wal-Mart ...

... vintage Depression glass sherbets I've had "forever" ...

... beautiful amber gold tumblers with an etched pinecone design. (I don't know the maker, but they're available here) ...

... and my everyday Oneida "Mozart" stainless.

The old wool runner down the center of the table was then joined by a collection of candleholders -- dried beans in a clear glass hurricane as well as wood (and wood-look) pieces.  (The two pierced styles are actually resin and were Dollar General finds several years ago; the tall ones were $3 each, and the short ones were only $1. The chunky real wood pieces came from an auction somewhere along the way ...)

A little more embellishing with acorns and Dollar Tree ceramic pumpkins ...

... and a beautiful Lenox owl figurine (available here for your Fall decorating collection).

Finally, a vintage never-used teakwood salt and pepper set.  Look at that beautiful woodgrain. (It's available here.)

Now I'll just let you look ...

Let's light the candles -- and bring the evening to a close ...

... But wait! Let's rewind and change one tiny thing. Have you seen these glasses at Dollar Tree? 

They're casual, so let's see what they could look like at breakfast tomorrow morning ...
