My name is Susan, and I'm a hopeless romantic. That means, of course, that I'm also a wedding junkie. I love all aspects of weddings. The dresses, the flowers, the invitations, the music ... but especially the details. I once thought I'd go the wedding planner route, but thankfully I didn't, because while I love "all things wedding," I do not love the stress or "attitude" that so many people bring to the planning process. I could NEVER be a wedding planner. Helping my own daughters plan their weddings was a pleasure, and dabbling with friends' kids' weddings is a blast, but that is e.nough to scratch my "wedding planner" itch.
These days, if I can set aside the concerns I have about the exorbitant amounts of money people think they have to spend on weddings and simply enjoy the "pretty factor," I'm good. So, about a year ago when I stumbled upon a blog that would send me some daily wedding inspiration, I was hooked. The blog is called Snippet & Ink (love that blog name!) All of today's pics come from there.
This gorgeous tablescape arrived in my inbox earlier this week. It's from a real wedding, and these are only two of several tables enjoyed by wedding-goers. Just click the link below this (and future) pics to see more.

Not every day's inspiration includes a tablescape, but I sure love it when it does! Since this week I'm busy working on my Sally List Valentines Eve Dinner for my local women's shelter, I've selected a few Snippet & Ink pretties that I hope will bring some St. Valentine's Day smiles to your face.

The thing that "wows" me most about Snippet & Ink ... even more than the gorgeous tablescapes and flowers ... is Kathryn's fabulous eye for creating mosaic-style inspiration boards. This one's named Coming Up Roses. Notice that it includes the picture from above. I dream of creating tablescape (rather than wedding) inspiration boards like this ...
I'm inspired! Are you?

And if you, like me, are prefering delicate pinks instead of bright reds this Valentine season, then perhaps this Blushing Beauty board is more your style. One more tablescape for you today, too!

If you love tablescaping, do you also love wedding details? Is there something about "that" personality? I wonder ... What do you think?
Speaking of Love one another ...
I hope you'll join us!

Well, I'm a retired professional wedding planner, so I guess there IS a connection here!!! Weird, huh? :-) Beautiful tables! I love all the florals!!! The one with the books and cherries really caught my eye!
ReplyDeleteVery very pretty!
ReplyDeleteThese photos really take me to a dreamy place!

But of course, I love all things wedding. Planning my daughter's wedding was one of the happiest seasons of my life. I kept all the resources and records, and it's been such fun to share them with many brides in the following years. The inspiration boards are lovely. Happy Valentines Day! Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteBeautiful snippets of love!
ReplyDeleteYep, I am encouraging my own daughters to see the weddings we sometimes see on TV as ridiculous and over the top and usually a waste of money! Weddings can be so much more beautiful and meaningful without all of the money going to them! I was in a hotel elevator last year with a soon-to-be bride and a few of her attendents the night before her wedding. They were all abuzz with all of the wedding particulars and the money being spent and how the bride was going to "freak out" if anyone ruined her day. As the elevator stopped at my floor I leaned over to her and said, "have a great marriage". She turned ghostly white and just looked at me as if she never thought about the "marriage" part of what was happening the next day. Sadly, not many brides today do. It is very possible to have a beautiful wedding on a budget and to concentrate on the marriage instead of the one day!
ReplyDeleteSo true! One thing I like about Snippet & Ink is that there are wedding of all sizes, and even some "photo shoot" faux weddings. Fortunately for us, the one place they're always willing to spend money is on the photography! :-)
DeleteGorgeous photos...Loving it all!

Romantic here too! Thanks for sharing the inspiration. Wonderful images. ~ Sarah
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing neat post! joann
ReplyDeleteLove your wedding shots. I know what you mean about being a wedding junkie. It sets in while planning a wedding and requires a serious withdrawal period that is helped by dipping your toe into the weddings of your friends. I am still in withdrawal from my son's July wedding. It is the ultimate tablescape! Happy Valentine's Day. ~CJ
ReplyDeleteThat's so pretty. I love pale pinks. (Yes, I know my table was bold and obnoxious red, but I still love quiet pinks.)
ReplyDeleteAnd ohhhhhh yes. I'm a wedding junkie. I love them. I'm a hopeless romantic and love to go to them. I had thought once about being a wedding planner. My sister and I even thought of it together because I'm creative and she is extremely well organized. After doing my niece's wedding, though, I decided that it's more fun to just enjoy them.
What I love about any wedding isn't really the details you can buy, or make, or create. I love the thing that can only be implanted within and seeing it on the faces. My favorite moment is when the groom sees the bride. The rest is wonderful to me, but it's all just icing on the wedding cake.
I so enjoyed this post...well I will be planning a wedding for our daughter in the next year, so this is great...but it will not have the dollar tags that most weddings now have, we are concentrating on the marriage, not the wedding.
ReplyDeleteSo much fun to see and dream of and all the details. It has been awhile since I put on something like that and I did so enjoy doing it years ago.
I was hooked as soon as I saw the LOVE mugs filled with flowers! Thanks for sharing your blog fave. Happy Valentines Day and Happy Pink Saturday. ~Marti
ReplyDeleteHPS & Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteLove these table settings!
Gabriela
I must be a wedding junkie, too, because I love all the trappings of romance. And, while, I supposed there is such a thing as an over-the-top wedding, I've never felt anyone has spent too much money on flowers. I just love flowers. Your photos are gorgeous. Pale pink seems to be the "thing" this year for Valentine's Day, but I like both pink and red. I guess it just depends on my mood.
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday Susan Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteOh what a gorgeous share today. I simply adore the table settings. That grouping of the flowers, stacked books and the simple little cherries tossed in about, oh my how lovely is that I ask you? Simply beautiful.
You really outdid yourself with the share today. It is so romantic, elegant and breath taking. Anyone would enjoy themselves immensely dining at one of these tables.
Have a gorgeous weekend sweet friend and Happy Valentine's Day. Country hugs, Sherry
So romantic, thanks for sharing. Happy Pink Saturday! ~Diane (I am #16)
ReplyDeleteOh my...such beautiful lovely photos. Today I bought a special Valentine's Dinner since I work on the 14th. Looking forward to a little romance around here! Sigh..but my table will not be so lonely as the bridal one.
ReplyDeleteOh how lovely these are. One of my very first jobs was for a "Bridal Service" Must be something to it.
ReplyDeleteFabulous post for Valentine's day. I love your pink!
ReplyDeleteFlamingo Love is my one of my pink this week. Have a great weekend.
Oh, such lovely images. Why don't you link your post to Seasonal Sundays?

Lovely ! Thanks for sharing Joann
ReplyDeleteHi, What a wonderful Valentines post! I too once thought I wanted to be a wedding planner and caterer. I had so much fun doing my three daughters weddings. I even had a friend that wanted so badly for both of us to do it together. But then, think about it, you are busy doing a wedding almost every weekend. I love having fun, hanging out with hubby too much to work all weekend long. I soon snipped that in the bud. lol!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Jann
I'm so happy that you decided to join Seasonal Sundays. Hope you'll be here next week too!

My daughter actually did become a wedding planner and I've worked with her on several weddings. I love wedding stuff and can't get enough of all the wedding shows on WE. My daughter and I are always thinking about how we could do a "smaller and less expensive" David Tutera design! Love your post!
